Mad Lions will return to the Valorant esports scene for the 2023 VCT season. The Spanish esports organization has signed Dark Ratio, an unorganized team that qualified for Split 1 of the NA Challengers League via Open Qualifiers.

This happened in his 3rd place and his 4th place in the first qualifier of the tournament.

Dark Ratio was knocked down to the lower bracket early in the tournament, but survived elimination by beating 99 Strength, Rat Attack, NSIC, and The Nation to reach the main event.

The Mad Lions roster consists of the following players:

The Mad Lions roster is made up of the following players:

  • William “Will” Cheng
  • Taylor “Drone” Johnson
  • Justin “Trick” Sears,
  • Adam “Ange” Milian
  • Anthony “ZexRow” Colandro
  • Ryou “MoonChopper” Nishiyama (Head Coach)

Dark Ratio is made up of top-tier pro players like Will and his Drone, who was fired from 100 Thieves in the offseason when he signed Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban. The latter was part of the original TSM roster early in NA Valorant.

The rest of the team consists of Trick, Ange and ZexRow. Trick leads the team in the game. Aside from Will, the rest of his four played together under the DarkZero Esports banner before disbanding. The team is coached by Ryo Nishiyama from Japan.

The Mad Lions took over the squad the day before Split 1 of the NA Challengers League kicked off. There was speculation that the organization was in touch with the team, but negotiations appear to have stalled to this day.

Mad Lions migrated from the Valorant Challengers League:
France, where he was second, lost 3-0 to Team Vitality. The French league had former Fnatic player Doma on the team. The organization abandoned its listing after it failed to become a Valorant franchise in Riot.

The Mad Lions are part of Group B of the NA Challengers League. Other sites in the group are M80, TSM, The Guard, Disguised and OREsports. The team’s first match is his match against TSM on February 2nd.

Well-known teams have shown strength in the tournament’s open qualifiers, and the backing of a good organization only increases their chances.
